Hi there!

I'm Javier R. Valdés

I am a professional musician and web designer based in Chile, with a fervent passion for video game music. My story began at the age of four when my mother, with her love and vision, took me to my first piano lesson. That decision marked the start of a journey that would change my life forever.

1. The Piano

Music became my world, and not a day went by without immersing myself in the piano keys, perfecting my craft with the help of wonderful teachers. As I grew, I won various national competitions and had the opportunity to participate in numerous concerts and musical events both inside and outside the country.

I thought that being a concert pianist was going to be my life... but something didn't quite sit right with me.

2. The Video Games

One day, around the age of five (I was too young to remember exactly), my father gave my brother and me a Game Boy Advance with a game that would leave an indelible mark on my life: Golden Sun.

It was then, years later, that I discovered my true dream: composition. Creating musical universes and fantasies for video games became something really important to me, inspired by games like Golden Sun, Undertale, and No Heroes Allowed. My brother and I even developed several attempts of games that never saw the light of day.

3. The Injury

I wanted to continue working on being a composer; however, I felt that this passion distracted me from my goal of becoming a concert pianist, a path I had followed since my childhood. Thus, I decided to set aside composition and focus on musical performance.

But destiny had other plans. In 2020, a strange injury struck my hands, leaving me unable to play the piano for more than a year. This event triggered a deep existential crisis but also provided me with the opportunity to rediscover what I truly wanted to do. With a new perspective, more experience, and two hands that barely functioned, I returned to my dream of composing.

4. Trilling Dragons

In 2022, I launched my YouTube channel, where I began publishing covers, mainly of Golden Sun, as a means to gain practice and refine my technique. I discovered the incredible satisfaction of creating sonic worlds with just a computer, a challenge that excites me more each day.

Today, I continue to train and develop, piece by piece building a small studio while performing my favorite pieces. Is this my true path? I don't know, but so far, every step has been a fascinating adventure.
